Our lab studies mechanisms of immune suppression, focusing on those mediated by Myeloid Derived Suppressor Cells (MDSCs). We utilize a diverse set of tools, including in vivo and in vitro models from both animal and human tissues and high throughput technologies, to investigate MDSCs role in cancer immune evasion, organ transplant tolerance, and in promoting liver regeneration. We conduct both basic and translational research, and our main goal is applying knowledge obtained in the lab to clinical practice to improve patient diagnosis and treatment.
