The mechanisms by which our brain is wired are still a fundamental mystery in biology. We utilize the awesome genetic power of Drosophila to study the mechanisms that govern the wiring and remodeling of developing neural circuits. Neuronal remodeling is critical for sculpting the mature nervous system and when defective, it is implicated in a wide range of neuro-psychiatric disorders including autism and schizophrenia.
