Human actions have pushed species to the brink of extinction resulting in a global biodiversity crisis. My research explores how human activities influence biodiversity, but also how people can benefit from biodiversity conservation. My aim is to find sustainable solutions for planning and managing of both human-dominated and pristine environments for the mutual benefit of people and nature. This is a multi- and interdisciplinary research program that integrates ecology, geography, sociology, psychology, economics, landscape planning and other fields.
