Our research focuses on acquiring cell identity in the hematopoietic system as it is one of the most amazing models for hierarchal organization. Specifically, we study the role of ribosomal (r)RNA modifications as regulators of cell-type-specific translation, which is essential for differentiation.
We utilize state-of-the-art molecular tools such as ribosome profiling, RNA modification sequencing and CRISPR-based screens. We combine these with ex-vivo stem cell research and in-vivo models by bone marrow transplantation.
