My interdisciplinary work spans anthropological history, cultural sociology, and cultural theory, focusing on Zionism, the Yishuv, Israeli society, and North American Jewry. His research explores the intersections of religion, nationalism, and consumer culture, particularly through holidays and life cycle rituals. He examines how cultural and social processes develop organically from below, independent of institutional influence. Beyond this, he has published extensively on childhood, family, and emotions, as well as theoretical inquiries into time, space, culture, and religion.
