The Center for the Study of Movement Cognition, and Mobility at Tel Aviv Medical Center aims to better understand, evaluate and treat gait and balance changes associated with aging and disease. We study gait, motor control, and brain function, focusing on gait variability, motor-cognitive interactions, freezing of gait, and falls in older adults and patients with neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease. Mechanisms are probed using non-invasive brain stimulation, fNIRS, EEG, and fMRI and mobility is studied using wearable devices, signal processing, and machine learning.
