Plants must constantly sense, respond, and adapt to the instantaneous modulation of daytime photon fluxes. Redox signals emanating from the photosynthetic electron transport (PET) chain play a major role in linking the performance of photosynthesis to chloroplast transcription, translation, and metabolic processes, allowing rapid acclimation to light conditions. In my lab, we are mainly interested in understanding the role of redox signals in regulating photosynthesis activities and downstream metabolism under dynamic environmental conditions.
