Fahima’s Lab applies advanced plant genomics to study, utilize, and conserve wild cereal populations in Israel, specifically wild emmer wheat (WEW) and wild barley. We focus on plant genomics, population genetics, and plant-pathogen interactions. Our research includes molecular marker development, linkage mapping, QTL analysis, map-based cloning, marker-assisted selection, sequence analysis, and CRISPR-mediated genome editing. We target economically valuable traits like disease resistance, grain protein content (GPC), minerals, and drought resistance.
