My research illuminates the factors and processes influencing risk and resilience during the transition to adulthood among at-risk youth in public care (e.g., foster care, residential care, group homes) and in the community. My research focuses on three primary domains: 1) outcomes, challenges, and barriers faced by at-risk adolescents and young adults; 2) resilience and adjustment-promoting factors that facilitate successful transitions; and 3) perspectives, needs, and challenges of formal and informal mentors who support at-risk young adults.
