We work on the evolution of animal body plans, with an emphasis on arthropods. We are interested in understanding the evolution and development of different aspects of the arthropod body plan, including segmentation, head and brain evolution, the evolution of metamorphosis and molting and more. We use comparative embryology, comparative genomics, and computational aspects, and try to ground our work in the fossil record.
