Over the past 30 years, my scientific interests have evolved around topics related to how mitochondria act as the cell headquarters in regulating stress response. Our long-term goals are to advance our understandings in the fields of mitochondria metabolism, mitochondria dynamics, and apoptosis, and to use our new understandings to develop more effective interventions to fight obesity and diseases such as Parkinson’s disease.
