My recent research focuses on: (i) the use of deep learning for active learning, curriculum learning, knowledge transfer, novelty detection, and other areas related to the use of sparsely labeled data and intelligent learning mechanisms; (ii) understanding how come deep learning is so successful, and where this might end.
