My research examines how organisms manage risk and the consequences of these coping tactics on food-web interactions, ecosystem dynamics, and evolutionary processes. I combine theory development and empirical examination, using various organisms in different ecosystems. To test theory, I employ manipulative field and laboratory experimentation coupled with a large variety of behavioral, physiological, and biogeochemical approaches.
