I focus on RNA viruses, studying their replication dynamics and host cell interactions. My research areas include: 1. Retroviruses: Investigating MLV and HIV replication mechanisms using, for example, real-time imaging. 2. Pneumoviruses: Developing reverse genetics systems to study hMPV replication and host immunity. 3. Emerging Viruses: Discovering the tilapia lake and trout granulomatous viruses. 4. Oncolytic Viruses: Exploring oncolytic RNA viruses’ potential in cancer treatment. 5. Influenza virus and host susceptibility: Developing antivirals and studying pulmonary responses to the virus.
