Research Interests
My research focuses are genomics with a special emphasis on A-to-I RNA editing by ADAR and RNA splicing. My group has been developing genomic and computational approaches to detect and screen editing events. While previously only a handful of editing sites were reported in literature, we managed to reveal millions of editing sites located in human Alu repeats and hundreds of novel sites in non-repetitive locations in mammalian genome, mainly in genes that are related to neuronal synapse functions.
