I am a plant eco-physiologist, especially interested in the ecology of foundation species, such as seagrasses. Studying seagrasses for over a decade, I have focused on the tropical seagrass species Halophila stipulacea, with studies in its native and invasive habitats, both in the field and in our seagrass mesocosm. We work on seagrass mapping, temporal and spatial dynamics, molecular and physiological responses to simulated climate changes and eutrophication, ecological interactions between seagrasses and other organisms, understanding the seagrass microbiome and biotechnology.
