I am a stable isotope geochemist with a specialization in sedimentary bio-geo-chemistry. I have investigated biogeochemical processes in a variety of natural environments by using a wide range of geochemical tools on both the solid and dissolved phase. I have coupled this largely geochemical approach to biology by means of numerical models that explore both the nature of reactive transport in the natural environment as well as the geochemical signature of microbial metabolism. The focus of my work so far has been on what is the dynamic between the carbon cycle and other biogeochemical cycles
