We are interested in exotic quantum states which emerge at low temperature in 2D systems. We probe these using using electronic measurements. We build tunnel junctions by stacking thin insulators on top of systems of interest. We also developed a new type of Josephson device, which is entirely 2D and can sustain very high magnetic fields in the plane. Finally, we study atomic defects in vdW materials, and their role as quantum compressibility and spectral sensors.
