My research interests include model heterogeneous catalysis and the role and mechanism of surface plasmon excitation of nanometer size metallic clusters in enhancement of photo-catalysis. Photochemistry of intact and caged molecules deposited on metal surfaces is studied as model for processes that take place at the inter-stellar medium (ISM). This while searching for complex organic molecules that may have formed the “origin of life”. We have just coined “inverse-volcano” as a new molecule-surface phenomenon (PRL, 2023).
