Research Interests
Cancer mortality is mostly due to metastasis to distant organs.
The main focus of our lab is studying the role of stromal and immune cells in cancer metastasis to lung, brain and bone. We combine state-of-the-art mouse models with transcriptomics, intra-vital imaging, and pre-clinical functional approaches to reveal the molecular events at the metastatic microenvironment that create a hospitable metastatic niche.
Better understanding of the early stages of metastatic growth is an essential prerequisite for the discovery of novel therapeutics targets that may prevent metastatic relapse.
