Research Interests
The Gonen Lab is interested in the process of mammalian sex determination, using the mouse as a model system.
We explore how regulatory elements and the non-coding genome regulate the process of sex determination and mediate disease in the form of Disorders of Sex Development (DSD).
We also use embryonic stem cells and differentiate them towards gonadal lineages, with the aim of developing testicular organoids and an in vitro system to model the gonads.
