Research Interests
Dryland grain crops agronomy with special emphasis on grain legumes. Chickpea genetics & breeding aimed at overcoming yield limiting factors, development of early flowering and blight resistant cultivars, study the genetic basis of grain carotenoids. The genetic basis of chickpea adaptation to spring cropping and identification of vernalization response in the wild progenitor. Legume crop-pathogen co-evolution in wild and agro-eco-systems. Species relation among wild and domesticated pea, (Pisum L.). Crop evolution under domestication and origin of agriculture in the Near East.
