Research Interests
My research interests are in ecological and evolutionary genomics, as they relate specifically to insect-plant and insect-environment interactions. My laboratory combines ecological, genomic and metabolomic tools mainly to understand the mechanisms underlying the ability of insects to adapt to feeding on a broad range of plant hosts (polyphagy) or to become specialized on a relatively limited set of hosts (oligophagy). We also study the evolution of phloem-feeding and the ability of phloem-feeding insects to sense sugars by gustatory receptors (GRs).
