Which mechanisms govern the day-to-day weather variability? Why do some weather events become extreme? How do weather systems interact across scales (10^7 – 10^2 m)? How predictable are high-impact events?
In the group we aim to answer such questions by applying theories, analyzing large datasets, and developing novel diagnostic tools and model experiments.
