We are interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying antibiotic resistance and spread of resistance in clinically relevant bacterial pathogens. We are also interested in deciphering the mechanisms in MDR pathogens that are involved in bacterial virulence, fitness and pathogenesis. This knowledge is crucial for the development of strategies to control antibiotic resistance spread and development of novel antimicrobial modalities and technologies.
