Research Interests
Shlomo Havlin is a Physics Professor at Bar-Ilan University. He has carried out fundamental research in applications of statistical physics to areas such as complex networks, infrastructure resilience, geophysics, climate, medicine, biology, and others. Recently (2010), he has studied the interdependence between infrastructure networks such as the power grid and communications network; and novel methods for understanding traffic congestion in urban. In 2023 he showed, with Prof. Aviad Frydman, that network science can yield new types of phase transitions that can be observed in experiments.
