My research focuses on understanding developmental, ecological and evolutionary aspects of the Cnidaria phylum. Specifically, our research is divided into three main areas:
*Cnidarian reproduction, proliferation and early developmental pathways (the sea anemone Nematostella, different types of jellyfish, soft coral).
*Myxozoa (Cnidaria) molecular infection process and host adaptation.
*Assembly, function and evolution of cnidarian stinging capsules.
