We are an experimental group interested in the physics of complex, disordered, and nonlinear soft matter systems in far-from-equilibrium conditions. We strive to reveal the mechanisms underlying memory formation, adaptation, and glassy dynamics in mesoscopically disordered systems such as crumpled sheets, granular matter, elastic foams, fibrous matter and more. We also investigate crackling and avalanche dynamics, design complex and smart mechanical metamaterials, and develop powerful (yet simple) nanoscopy methods.
