Research Interests
We study how trees function and survive in natural and planted dry woodlands, and how livestock grazing mitigates climate change-induced drought. We also investigate the unique way of how resources (carbon, water, nutrients) become available to plants and microbes in drylands, and how these unique ways start to emerge in cold and humid regions of the world when they become warmer and drier. Some of these topics are now also studied in cities.
